CDC Released Update Regarding Autism Prevalence to 1 in 59 Children #autism #autismdiet

CDC released update regarding Autism prevalence to 1 in 59 children

By Kristin Selby Gonzalez,
President, Autism Hope Alliance

Reported by CDC today:

About 1 in 59 eight year-old children in 11 communities across the United States  were identified as having Autism in 2014, according to a report published today in CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) Surveillance Summary*

That is a 15% increase in 2 years. More HELP is needed than ever before.

What number does it have to be before the U.S. notices the problem? Think about when most of us where children, how many people did you know with Autism in your childhood? Did you even know the word Autism? We must start demanding more research and funding for our families. What will happen when these children all become adults? Who will take care of them?

If you received a 15% increase in your salary you would be jumping up and down, as that is a HUGE increase. However, the CDC casually says in their report, “slightly higher.”

A huge fear for most families is what will happen to their children when they are no longer here to help provide for them. Do we realize what this world is soon to look like
with these numbers continuing to increase? Why is it so  easy for many that don’t have a child diagnosed with Autism to just turn the other way?

We must come together and make our voices heard. For many of our children we are their ONLY voice. We can’t stay silent any longer. We here at the Autism Hope Alliance
will continue to believe in our children and their future. If you want to join our mission of helping families TODAY,  please visit https://autismhopealliance.org/#donate

We at AHA know that this journey is not easy. WE WILL NOT  GIVE UP ON OUR CHILDREN. This quote seemed to be a perfect fit for today:

“It doesn’t matter how many times you get knocked down. All that matters is you get up one more time than you were knocked down.” –Roy T. Bennett
